Photo booth marketing ideas for brand activations in Egypt
A photo booth is one of the few activation tools people take home on purpose. How to design the strip, place the booth, brief it and judge it honestly.

In short
A brand activation photo booth puts your logo, brand colours and campaign artwork on a printed strip that guests take home. Tru Booth runs branded booths for activations, launches and corporate events across Greater Cairo and Giza, the North Coast and El Gouna, with a Tru attendant for the whole session and no Wi-Fi needed. A standard booking covers up to 4 hours or 216 prints, whichever comes first, and Tru does not collect guest contact details. Send your date, venue and brief on WhatsApp or through the inquiry form for a quote.
Why a printed, branded strip works
Most activation material stays at the venue. A photo strip has the guest’s own face on it, so it goes home, and your logo goes with it, onto a fridge, a desk or a mirror.
The closed booth adds something a backdrop cannot: privacy. Inside, nobody is watching, so people stop performing for the crowd and start to play, and a real moment is the kind people keep.
Every strip prints within seconds, two to a 4 × 6 inch sheet, so it is in hand before the guest leaves the stand.
Photo booth marketing ideas for your activation
Pick one or two: a booth with one clear idea reads better than a booth with five.
- A launch strip: the product and the launch date in the artwork.
- A campaign line: the one message of your campaign on every strip, in Arabic, English or both.
- A co-branded strip: your logo next to a partner’s or the venue’s, for joint activations.
- The Red as a magnet: loud on purpose and impossible to walk past, for a stand that needs to pull people in.
- Video messages for company events: colleagues record short messages inside the booth, and you receive every clip uncut in a private folder within a week.
How to design a branded photo strip
The strip is what people keep, so design it like a small poster.
Start with one message
One line people read at a glance: the campaign idea, the product or the occasion. A strip with three messages says none of them.
Add your logo and colours
Send your logo in the best file you have, with your brand colours, and we design them into the frame.
Bring in the campaign artwork
Key visuals from the campaign make the strip part of it. Bespoke concepts, including AI-rendered artwork, are available on request.
Leave room for the faces
The photos are why people keep the strip. Keep the branding to the frame.
Choose three or four frames
Four frames is the classic strip, three frames the alternative; both carry the full design.
Where to place a photo booth at an activation
Placement decides how many people step in:
- Visible, on the main path
- Put the booth where people already walk, facing the flow. A booth people have to look for is a booth they skip.
- About 2 × 2 metres
- About 2 × 2 metres and about 2 metres tall for the enclosed booth. For the open booth, we confirm floor space for your venue.
- One power outlet
- That is all it needs. Find the nearest outlet before you fix the spot.
- No Wi-Fi needed
- The booth runs fully offline, so a crowded mall or a hall with a weak signal does not stop it.
- Access before doors open
- We set up and test before guests arrive. Check the venue’s setup hours early, especially in a mall.
- Room for a short queue
- Leave space in front, so people waiting do not block your stand or the walkway.
Who staffs the photo booth?
A Tru attendant runs the booth for the whole session: setup and testing before doors open, guiding guests, keeping the printer running, and teardown. Your team does not need to learn it or stand at it.
That frees your brand team to invite people in and talk about the product while they wait. The guest screen works in Arabic and English, so a mixed audience can follow it alone.
Closed or open booth for a brand activation?
Both carry your design on every strip; the difference is how people behave.
| Closed booth (Black or Red) | Open booth | |
|---|---|---|
| How people behave | Private: nobody is watching, so people play | Open-air: the crowd can watch and join in |
| Group size | Couples and small groups | Big groups: the whole group fits |
| On the floor | The Black for a premium launch, the Red to be seen across the floor | Pro camera, studio light, touchscreen, no walls |
| Footprint | About 2 × 2 m, about 2 m tall | Floor space confirmed for your venue |
| Best for | Launches, premium audiences, mall activations | Team events, big groups, busy stands |
Running a photo booth activation in a mall or venue
Malls put a booth in front of the most passers-by, and they have the strictest rules. Before you confirm, ask the mall where the stand can go, where the nearest outlet is, and when setup is allowed before opening.
Tru also runs booths that stay on site: permanently at Majarrah Mall in Sheikh Zayed, and seasonally at Seashell Hill Walk on the North Coast in summer. A mall or venue that wants its own booth is a different arrangement, with the venue’s name on every strip and commercial terms discussed on request.
Briefing the agency: what to send for a photo booth activation
Whether you brief us directly or through your agency, send:
- The date, the start time and how long the activation runs
- The venue, the city and the exact spot (a photo of the space helps)
- The crowd you expect
- Closed booth (Black or Red) or open booth
- Your logo files, brand colours and campaign artwork
- The one message the strip should carry, in Arabic, English or both
- Whether you want a custom backdrop or video messages
- Who our attendant should speak to on the day
How to measure a photo booth activation
Our booth is built around the print, so the honest measure is the print. A standard booking covers up to 216 prints or 4 hours, whichever comes first, plus any packs of 108; since each print carries two strips, that is up to 432 branded strips. If you want the final print count, ask us before the event and we confirm.
Your team can measure the rest. Put a campaign hashtag or your Instagram handle on the strip and follow it on your own channels. If you run an offer, print the offer line on the strip and count redemptions. And watch the queue.

Photo booth marketing questions
Does the photo booth collect emails or leads?
No. Tru does not collect guest contact details. Plan any lead capture separately, through your own team.
How many prints does an activation need?
It depends on how many people reach the stand and go in together; our prints guide has a calculator. A standard booking covers up to 216 prints or 4 hours, whichever comes first, plus packs of 108.
Can a photo booth run inside a mall?
Yes. The enclosed booth needs a visible spot of about 2 × 2 metres, one power outlet and access before opening, and it runs offline.
Do you run activations outside Cairo?
Yes. We work across Greater Cairo and Giza, on the North Coast and in El Gouna, and in other cities on request. Quotes outside Cairo include transport.
Tell us about the night.
Send your date and venue. We reply on WhatsApp with availability, booth options and a quote.
